Going Interactive Speaks About New Media Tools

Dear Freelance Forum:

Thanks to all who came out to my speech on Thursday. As promised, here's a little recap of the items I covered during my presentation on New Media topics.

In this 21st century type of network, marketors focused on consumers posting, sharing and discussing content online. Everything that you create needs to engage the audience and gain interest. These formats will have a life across all types of formats both online and offline.

Formats I discussed were: websites, presentations, micro-sites, CDroms, trade show materials, online ads, email campaigns, video, viral - digital word of mouth marketing, podcasts, videocasts, blogs, vlogs, seo and rss.

Things to check out and keep an eye (or ears on):
- Websites like Wikipedia.org, sethgodin.com, del.icio.us
- Podcasts like Marketing Online Live, Wired News, CNET News
- Publications like Fast Company, Wired, Step Inside Design, HOW, Communication Arts,
- Blogs like Blogpulse.com, stephenspencer.com, micropersuasion.com

Hope everyone got a little something out of the event. Thanks again and good luck with your Interactive Tools!

Sincerely - Jason Davenport

What's Up With All This New Spam?!

If you're like us, you've noticed an annoying doubling or even tripling of non-sensical spam. The old "Hi, It's me..." type.

Here's an interesting article on the NY Times website describing the problem. It's interesting that in the beginning of 2006 authorities thought spam was under control. And Bill Gates himself is even quoted as saying the problem of junk e-mail "will be solved by 2006".

We wish it had!

Here's the article.
